Job description

Stark are recruiting for a fully qualified solicitor within England and Wales registered the SRA. We are looking for someone experienced in Contract law preferably within the utility industry.

Key responsibilities will include.

  • Set up, maintenance and periodic review of bespoke new and existing customer and TPI contracts
  • Set-up, maintenance and periodic review of service provider contracts, compliance and relationships
  • Set-up, maintenance and periodic review of supplier contracts, compliance and relationships
  • Understand Stark’s overall business objectives and work to achieving these by contributing to and progressing department objectives
  • Actively grow technical and commercial knowledge and understanding of group activities
  • Provide reviews, overviews and recommendations in line with group requirements and the department priorities
  • Support the review, maintenance and development of new and existing contract templates
  • Ensure that service level commitments in all contracts reviewed are achievable and meet group requirements as relevant
  • Recognise, escalate and propose solutions/negotiation stances to potential contractual risks as soon as they are identified
  • Manage and support the investigation and resolution of complex and/or bespoke contract queries both internally and externally
  • Proactively manage and resolve contract disputes in a tactful and timely manner under the supervision of the Commercial Executives
  • Supervision, creation and implementation of company policies (including compliance policies) and associated documentation when the need arises
  • Participate in departmental projects as the need arises under the supervision of the Commercial Executives
  • Participate in interdepartmental projects as the need arises, working to drive new products and services, including bespoke drafting of contracts, policies and procedures to ensure smooth delivery of service under the supervision of the Commercial Executives
  • Provide effective support, coaching and on job training to the team and wider business as required
  • Review and sign off work for the purposes of Qualifying Work Experience
  • Undertake work on such tasks and agreements as delegated by the Commercial Executives from time to time
