Job description

Do you want to be part of our brilliant (unusual, quite possibly unique) forward looking, fast moving, not for profit organisation which, every day, breathes life into the commemoration of those service personnel who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars?

We are looking for a talented generalist legal counsel, with a good level of experience and able to hit the ground running, to join our legal team on a 12 months’ fixed term contract (maternity cover) to help us with an incredibly interesting and diverse range of local and international legal matters. Come and help us ensure that the sacrifice of Commonwealth service personnel during the First and Second World Wars is never forgotten and that their stories continue to be told forever.

About this Role and You

This is an important role at the centre of our Organisation. As Legal Counsel you will report to and work with our General Counsel and will be relied upon to provide top quality, pragmatic, and practical legal services to our Organisation. You will work alongside our experienced central Legal team whose workload stretches the globe. You can expect to be challenged with new and interesting legal issues and to work with exceptional colleagues. You will need to be a versatile thinker, a team player and able to advise on varied and unusual legal issues.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to get involved with contracts, land matters, employment, IP, and a whole host of other legal matters.

Previous in-house experience is beneficial.

Everyone who works for us or with us shares our values, which are formed around our concept of care, which is what we are proud to each day, for ourselves, each other and those who lost their lives, with CARE then being Commitment, Ambition, Respect and Excellence.
